How we brew with sunlight and spring water
Every pint at Lake Arenal Brewery starts with two things we do not have to buy: sunshine and spring water.
Our brewery has been running since 2011, when our founder installed his own German brewing equipment and made the first Paradise Pale Ale and Jungle Dunkel. Today we brew eight styles and about 14,000 liters a month.
Powered by the sun
The brewery runs on solar photovoltaic energy. Steam comes from a biodiesel boiler, and we carbonate our beer naturally.
Pure water, careful ingredients
We brew with pure water from our own springs, European malted grains, North American hops and French yeast.
Nothing goes to waste
After brewing, the spent grain goes to our farm, where it becomes feed for the animals. It is one small part of a bigger loop that also includes a biodigester and composting.
Want to see it? The Beer Tour lasts one hour and runs daily from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, by advance reservation.
